Joining us from the far reaches of Ashe County and Two Springs Farm, Serene Dae Solinski is a Community Herbalist, Educator and Sustainable Farmer. One of her favorite Turtle Island duties is helping our summer youth campers achieve our advanced honor-challenge: “The Challenge of the South.” She has taught, demonstrated and led foraging and plant-walks here, and has been a local Boone, NC resource for all things green and healthy for 20 years.
Serene will lead 10 students in fusing the powerful properties of Apple Cider Vinegar and useful plants gathered on-site into tasty beneficial products. Participants will discover ancient and scientific utilities that benefit health & hygiene, as well as open the door to creating individual cider creativity.
Participants will gather wild herbs to be utilized in their creations, learning the benefits and proper uses. As well, you will make multiple recipes such as Oxymels, Shrubs and Thieves ACV, as well as learn the history of these dietary allies. Bonus-you get to take them home!
