The next Knife-Making Workshop will be announced in the fall of 2017

Join acclaimed Mountain Man Preston Roberts for an introduction to the art and ability to create a classic drop-point fixed blade knife. You will get lots of hands-on experience, learning techniques that will guide you into making your very own, one-of-a-kind, high-carbon steel, bone/antler-handled fixed blade knife with blind or hidden tang. Your 5 inch blade will be made from an old bucksaw blade. It will have a brass bolster and it will go through the heating process as well.Time permitting, leather sheath-making will also be demonstrated. This daylong event is open to a small group 10 of adults only. Spaces are limited. Your take-home finished product (typically valued at $250) will be a durable knife, sure to become a famly treasure.

Location: 8 miles east of Boone, NC - the awe-inspiring base camp at Turtle Island Preserve is just 2 miles off the Blue Ridge Parkway - Bamboo Gap Exit

Cost: $125.00 per person

Cancellations: A non-refundable deposit of 1/2 your total will be retained for all cancellations.

All tools and materials provided, but participants are welcome to bring their own antler for handle making.
