Honeybees & Crafting Meads

Saturday May 13, 2017

Join Turtle Island for a day-long journey into the ancient world of honeybees and the craft of honey beverage making. We will begin by observing and evaluating a live and active hive of honeybees. Bring a journal and pen, the information in this section will be very useful. Pack your own lunch to enjoy a midday break, after which we will follow up with active participation in multiple options for and brewing craft beverages with honey. One unique aspect of this class is that students will brew a batch of mead over open fire, just as our ancestors have for thousands of years. This event is open to a small group of 21+ and up adults only.*All implements, honey, tools and materials provided*
