Fire By Friction Class

The Next Fire Class Will Be Held In the spring of 2020

Hillbilly Blood co-star Spencer Bolejack aka 'The Appalachian Ninja' will use the expansive and beautiful base camp at Turtle Island Preserve to lead a small group of adults in using friction to generate embers and other lesser known techniques for sustaining a variety of fire types. We will learn purpose-driven fire structures, no trace and low-trace methods, and build a kit to take home to help everyone master the art of fire.

At Turtle Island Preserve we heat our water, cook our food, and illuminate the darkness all with the assistance of fire. The hand-crafted meals you will enjoy between your classes will be prepared exclusively over fire as well. This class will be a one-day immersion into not only fire and its many uses, but revealing ways and lifestyles you may have never even considered...

The Fire By Friction Workshop is particularly special because we will have four TV personalities all gathered at Turtle Island Preserve that weekend. Saturday evening will feature live music, hand-crafted fine foods, and a fireside talk with our very own Eustace Conway.
